Pitchers
There should be a good many pitchers in play today that ought to keep the ownership %s relatively low. There are great pitchers in tough situations (Kershaw at COL), weaker pitchers with great matchups (Arrieta at home vs Miami) and the usual roll of the dice options.
Jordan Zimmermann – Washington Nationals – as mentioned above there is no clear cut SP in play today. Typically I like my top SP to be at home, however, in this case Petco vs the Friars is nearly as good as a home matchup. San Diego is 29th in runs scored at home with a paltry 3.24rpg and last in the league with a .280wOBA vs RHPs. With a .293baa and averaging just over 5 innings per start, Zimmermann has broken everyone’s hearts at least once this season, however, June is the perfect month to start a new summer romance, especially with the 9th priciest pitcher of the day.

Felix Hernandez – Seattle Mariners – can you guess which stat line is King Felix’s home and road splits for the last three years?
24-15, 384 innings, 2.94ERA, 371Ks, .238/.297/.343, .285wOBA
or
23-19, 377 innings, 3.25ERA 381Ks, .241/.259/.359, .281wOBA
Throw in the fact that Tropicana Field plays as a pitcher’s park, the Mariners being 4th in the league scoring 4.75rpg on the road and current Rays hitting .216/.279/272 with JUST SEVEN XBHs in 162ABs and you too will talk yourself into Hernandez today. (correct answer: the 2nd set of data are his home figures).
C.J. Wilson – Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim – Wilson makes the list with the Angels having the highest win odds today at -175ML. The White Sox are 21st in MLB with a .303wOBA against southpaws and prior to his debacle earlier this week at HOU, Wilson had given up just 4ERs and 1HR in the prior 23 innings.
Other Pitching Options
Henderson Alvarez – Miami Marlins – coming off a complete game shutout against TB and having not allowed a run in his last three starts, Alvarez deserves a look against the Cubbies.
Anibal Sanchez – Detroit Tigers – has given up more than two runs just once (and it was only three) in his nine starts this season. Yes, Boston can be tough at times but this matchup on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball is another one that deserves consideration.
Catchers
As a reminder, with the earlier start times, regular catchers often get a day off Sunday after the late Saturday games. Be sure to check out theRotoGrinders Lineup Page which updates in real-time as MLB lineups are announced.
Devin Mesoraco – Cincinnati Reds – ho hum, just a .435wOBA, 1.018OPS and 9HRs in 85ABs against RHPs this season. David Buchanan has a .380wOBA and given up 3HRs in just 11 innings against same-handed hitters so far.
Jonathan Lucroy – Milwaukee Brewers – first off, let us give thanks to the Pirates for calling up lefty Jeff Locke for a spot start today who got toasted by San Fran in his early May spot start (5.1inn 6ERs). Lucroy is elite against LHP with a .320avg, 387wOBA and 23XBHs in his last 178ABs.

John Jaso – Oakland Athletics – you know the drill, look at the Oakland catching platoon for a discounted catcher option. Today it will be Jaso in the lefty/righty matchup against the very hittable Ubaldo Jimenez.
Victor Martinez – Detroit Tigers – V-Mart has been phenomenal this season and is definitely worth a long look today for your H2H games on FanDuel.
First Base
Miguel Cabrera and Brandon Moss – Team Awesome – just in case you forgot, these guys are pretty good.
Freddie Freeman – Atlanta Braves – dating back to 2013 Freeman has a .398wOBA in 620PAs againstRHPs. Mix in a matchup in a great hitters park against a pitcher who has given up 4HRs in his four starts and you have an excellent foundation for your H2H/50-50 lineups.
Anthony Rizzo and Edwin Encarnacion both receive high marks on the RotoGrinders wOBA Page and are definitely options.
Second Base
I feel that today is a good day to save at the keystone position and I will not be going after the pricier options as I want to pay up at 1B and OF.
Scooter Gennett – Milwaukee Brewers – Gennett is once again at an excellent price point for his lefty/righty battle with Jeff Locke today.
Aaron Hill – Arizona Diamondbacks – Hill gets to take on Aaron Harangatan and he has a solid .326wOBA in same handed matchups over his last 430ABs, making for a nice differentiation play.
Ryan Raburn – Cleveland Indians – definitely look to get some Cleveland right-handed lumber in your lineups against superdud Joe Saunders.
Kevin Frandsen – Washington Nationals – as a Nats fan I am hoping that “Anthony Rendon(player-profile)”:/fantasyplayers/Anthony_Rendon-14613’s thumb injury is not too serious, but if he is out Frandsen is a cheap option who may be near the top of the Washington batting order today.
Premium Options – again, while I am not going to pay for 2nd basemen today, Robinson Cano and Chase Utley are fine choices.
Third Base
Adrian Beltre – Texas Rangers – Beltre is a fantastic option against same-handed pitching with 29HRs and a .371wOBA in his last 617ABs.

Matt Carpenter – St Louis Cardinals – in the lineups I have constructed this morning I have been using my savings at SP and 2B to select a top shelf 3B options. Matt Carpenter is one of my favorite plays in cash games since he rarely has a terrible performance and always provides something.
Aramis Ramirez – Milwaukee Brewers – kick back with a cold beverage of your choice and enjoy the offensive action that should be coming from the Brew Crew against Jeff Locke.
Brett Lawrie – Toronto Blue Jays – it is very rare that I look to Lawrie in DFS, however, as my “ GrindersLive “: http://rotogrinders.com/live* co-host billsfan777 likes to point out every show, he has really been en fuego with hits in 14 of his last 16 games and is in the heart of a very productive Blue Jays offense.
Shortstop
Didi Gregorius and Chris Owings – Arizona Diamondbacks – whichever gets the start in Kirk Gibson’s grab-bag lineup is in a good spot facing Aaron Harang who is just about ready to turn into a pumpkin after being the Belle of the Ball for most of the first month.
Hanley Ramirez – Los Angeles Dodgers – HanRam is a great option in Coors Field against LHP Jorge De La Rosa. Ramirez crushes LHP with a .436wOBA and 24XBHs in his last 132ABs.
J.J. Hardy – Baltimore Orioles – okay TODAY is the day he gets his first HR of the season. Actually for his price, as long has he gets on base a couple times and scores I will be more than happy.
Outfield
Jose Bautista – Toronto Blue Jays – Joey Bats has a terrific .457wOBA against LHPs dating back to last season. Jaime Garcia has been up and down since his return from a long injury layoff and the Rogers Center really favors batters. I am willing to pay up for Bautista today.
Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp and Scott Van Slyke – Los Angeles Dodgers – like most DFS gamers we like to load up on Sunday Coors Field participants.BE CAREFUL with Puig who left the game early yesterday with a hip pointer, however, if he is out Scott Van Slyke will likely get the call to replace him and he is sporting a .401wOBA against LHP in his last 128ABs. Matt Kemp has been a whole lot of mediocre this season, but I don’t think he will leave this series without at least one HR, so I am hoping it comes today!
Jonathan Singleton – Houston Astros – Samuel Deduno has reverse splits, however, I have a good feeling about Singleton today and like him to get his second career HR. This is a gut call.
Matt Holliday and Allen Craig – St Louis Cardinals – the Cardinals bats seem to be enjoying their visit to Canada, so I have found myself looking to both Holliday and Craig on various lineups this morning as they have .374wOBA/59XBHs and .345wOBA/42XBHs against RHPs respectively.

Billy Hamilton and Jay Bruce – Cincinnati Reds – this will be my first time recommending Hamilton, but those of you who are regular readers know that I often highlight Bruce against RHPs. I do not believe thatDavid Buchanan is equipped to handle even a somewhat diluted Reds lineup in the Great American Ballpark.
Jayson Werth – Washington Nationals – Werth is a bonafide lefty killer with a .367avg, 1.042OPS and .447wOBA in his last 173 plate appearances against southpaws.
Rajai Davis, Torii Hunter and Austin Jackson – Detroit Tigers – I know, I know, you always get this recommendation from me when Detroit is going against a RHP, but most people are not looking into the numbers so all three still make for great differentiation plays who will be under-owned and John Lackeycan spontaneously combust from time to time so this is a nice way to cap off a day of baseball.
